Altadena / Pasadena Disaster Support Program

Part of the Eaton Fire Initiative

The Altadena / Pasadena Disaster Support Program is a critical component of the Eaton Fire Initiative, established to bring immediate and long-term support to the communities affected by the devastating fires in Altadena, Pasadena, and surrounding areas. This initiative is specifically focused on helping those who have lost their homes, been evacuated, or suffered damage from the Eaton Fire, one of the largest disasters in our region's history.

Our program is designed to provide essential resources, recovery support, and community services to those impacted. We aim to help restore a sense of stability for residents, and offer a pathway to recovery while ensuring that no one is left behind during this challenging time.

Program Overview
The Altadena / Pasadena Disaster Support Program, as part of the Eaton Fire Initiative, focuses on four key pillars of recovery:

Immediate Relief and Supplies

Electronics: Providing essential devices like cell phones, notebooks, computers, and TVs to help families stay connected, search for work, and keep informed during recovery efforts.

Tools and Household Items: Offering necessary tools for immediate repairs, including shovels, drills, and household cleaning supplies to support the physical rebuilding of homes and gardens.

Storage Space: We are actively seeking partners to provide storage space for families to store their belongings during the rebuilding process.

We aim to help restock with furniture and essential household items.

Skilled Professionals: Volunteers with specialized skills, including electricians, plumbers, and gas line specialists, are available to help restore basic utilities in homes that have been damaged or destroyed.

Mental Health Support: Offering counseling services and support groups to help families cope with the trauma of losing their homes and belongings.

Legal & Insurance Assistance: Helping victims navigate the complexities of insurance claims, disaster recovery programs, and other legal matters.

Long-Term Community Rebuilding and Restoration

Garden and Property Restoration: Providing tools and resources for families to restore gardens and landscapes, bringing beauty and stability back to their homes and communities.

Local Partnerships: Collaborating with local businesses, organizations, and volunteers to ensure the Altadena and Pasadena communities rebuild in a sustainable, unified manner.

Ongoing Support: Our program is designed to support the affected areas for as long as needed. We will remain committed to the communities' long-term recovery and provide ongoing resources and assistance as needed.

How We’re Different
The Altadena / Pasadena Disaster Support Program, as part of the Eaton Fire Initiative, is built on a foundation of community collaboration. We focus not only on providing immediate relief but also on building long-term solutions that will help families recover and thrive.

We are focusing our efforts on reaching out to companies for support, particularly in areas other than clothes, medication, food, and water, as those are already being addressed by others.
